This Nail Artist Did a Manicure With All Your Favorite '80s Cartoon Characters

As any nail artist will tell you, innovative manicure inspiration stretches back as far as you can imagine. Essie announced June 1 National Nail Polish Day one year ago.

The Instagram feed of New York City nail artist Savannah Walker contains influences from Ming Dynasty ceramics to early 1900s symbolist paintings to Takashi Murakami's contemporary work.

We love her latest manicure, a tribute to 1980s cartoons, one of the most neglected creative styles of the 20th century.

Walker has been waiting her whole life for this manicure, but she had weeks to prepare for the lovely task.

"My client picked her next set last month," Walker tells Allure. "I found some reference photos to go off of, and she brought a few more of her faves."

They captured 10 beloved 1980s cartoon characters in perfect photographs.

The left hand has an original My Little Pony pegasus, Smurfette, Rainbow Brite, ThunderCats Cheetarah, and a rainbow Care Bears tummy from thumb to pinky.

The right hand has Jem, Casey from the Snorks, She-Ra, Strawberry Shortcake, and Red Fraggle from thumb to pinky.
