Experts' 7 spring nail styles to try now
Spring brings new nail trends to love. Before our next nail appointment,
professionals Celina Rydén and Frida Selkirk helped us choose between alternatives this season.
Soft pastels, romantic nail painting, and more are spring 2024 manicure trends to try now.
As sure as snowdrops and tulips signal spring, denim jackets signal warmer months ahead. Our nails should reflect this desire for lighter denim layers, says Switch Nails founder Celina Rydén. Celebrity nail artist Frida Selkirk agrees: “Light denim blue nails rule during springtime.”
2024 will not see glazed manicures. Rydén prefers pastel colors that “simply make us happy.” Try pastel green'matcha' manicures this spring, another Hailey Bieber favorite.
Rydén thinks the bow trend is sticking put and complements all spring colors. The nail artist recommends adding “3D designs and pearls” to ‘coquette nails’.
When celebrity nail artist Tom Bachik painted Selena Gomez's claws butter yellow, it sold out in seconds. This manicure is perfect for sunny days because it's quick to do but not overdone. Selkirk, who loves the trend, calls it “delightful.”
Another spring manicure trend is ‘aura’ nails. Selkirk's "cherry cola nails" for Vogue Scandinavia's The Signature series are one of several fresh twists on the gradient-based manicure design.
One of the most wearable manicures on this list is the fading French tip, which has a subtle gradation from your natural nail bed to a hint of color at the tips. It lets nails to develop without salon appointments and is normally milky neutral (but a ‘denim blue’, ‘butter yellow’, or ‘matcha green’ tip could and should be explored).
Selkirk like “soft brown shades like camel and nougat” for spring. It's easy to customize this retro nail color to match a sleek '90s ensemble.
