Crispy Hot Honey-Sesame Feta Bites.
These warm feta pieces are coated in toasty sesame seeds and drizzled with spicy-sweet honey for a simple snack that strikes all the right notes.
Pat your feta dry so that the egg can stick to it and hold the sesame seeds in place.
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, divided. 1 (8-ounce) block of feta cheese. One huge egg. 2/3 cup sesame seeds. 2 tablespoons honey.
1 teaspoon chopped Calabrian chiles 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest
Preheat the oven to 450° F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and rub with 1 tbsp oil.
Spread sesame seeds onto a small dish. Working in batches, dip the feta cubes in the egg, letting the excess drop off, then dredge in sesame seeds, gently turning until well coated.
(Remove extra egg and sesame seeds.) Place the coated feta on the prepared baking sheet and freeze for at least 10 minutes, or up to 30 minutes.
Drizzle the coated feta with the remaining 1 tablespoon oil. Bake for 15 to 16 minutes, turning the pieces halfway through.
